Today, President Trump visited a Ford factory in Michigan. You can see a long video of his visit here:
Trump even claimed that Michigan had once named him Man of the Year, but no one seems to know what he is talking about. Anderson Cooper already investigated this bizarre claim when Trump made it before.
There. I watched it for you so that you won’t have to.
He didn’t wear a mask even though it is state law to wear masks in factories. Trump claimed that he didn’t want the press to have the pleasure of seeing him wear one–although he apparently looks really good in a mask.
After Trump broke the law in Michigan, AG Dana Nessel agreed that Trump was no longer welcome in Michigan and that he was a petulant child. She also suggested that Ford would have consequences for allowing Trump within their facility without the benefit of a mask.
“I think that we’re going to have to have a very serious conversation with Ford in the event that they permitted the President to be in publicly enclosed places in violation of the order,” Nessel said after Trump flouted the order during the public portion of the tour. “They knew exactly what the order was and if they permitted anyone, even the President of the United States, to defy that order, I think it has serious health consequences potentially to their workers.”

Seemingly enraged at Trump’s purposeful defiance of the law, Nessel went on to suggest that Trump had set a bad example for the citizens of Michigan who have greatly suffered from the Covid-19 pandemic.
“I am ashamed to have him be President of the United States of America,” she said.”And I hope that the voters of Michigan will remember this when November comes, that he didn’t care enough about their safety, he didn’t care about their welfare, he didn’t respect them enough just to engage in the very simple task, the painless task, the easy task of wearing a mask when he was provided one.””And so I hope that we’ll have a new president soon enough who does respect people more than this president does,”
AG Dana Nessel
After Nessel’s rebuke of Trump’s behavior, he took to Twitter to lash back.
A few minutes later, Trump tweeted again:
Over 53,000 people in Michigan have tested positive for Covid-19, and there have been over 5000 deaths attributed to the virus. Currently, the death rate in Michigan is 9.55%.
Do you believe that President Trump should have worn a mask to the Ford facility?
